E-Suspension

Mounting and installation

The E-Suspension is fitted to the camping vehicle by SMV-Metall or a specialised dealer. In consultation, it is decided whether the control of the system is done by a Starter Package Basic or Starter Package Plus.

Basically, the E-Suspension comes with a Starter Package of your choice. Upon delivery of the system, you will receive a document containing the QR code of the Starter Package and that of the E-Suspension. If you already have a system, your current system can be fitted in consultation with SMV-Metall.

Steps

  1. Download the E-Trailer app and create a personal account.
    • To do so, click on ‘New user’ and follow the steps in the app.
  2. Log into the app and make sure the smartphone’s Bluetooth is on and you have a stable internet connection.
  3. Scan the QR code provided with the Starter Pack Basic or Plus.
  4. The app connects to the system and retrieves the data set by the manufacturer/dealer.
  5. Always check for updates for your system. Click here for more information on Updating the Starter Package Basic or Plus.
  6. Click on the E-Suspension icon to test the air suspension with the app.
  7. Change any preferences you want in the E-Suspension settings.

There is something wrong with the QR code

Can’t scan the QR code?

It may be that you have not yet authorised the E-Trailer app to use the phone’s camera. Turn on this permission on your phone.

You receive the message QR code invalid?

You have scanned the QR code to add your product in the app and you get a notification that something went wrong. There may be a few reasons for this:

  1. You have already scanned your QR code. Then the module is has already been added to your account. Go to the main screen of the app.
    Is your module listed? Then click on it and follow the calibration steps.
  2. If you want to reinstall your modules, you do not need to scan your QR code again. You then go into the module’s settings, choose General tab and click Recalibrate.
  3. The QR code is not known in the database. At that point you contact us.
  4. If you bought your system second hand, the module may still be in the previous owner’s account. In that case, please contact us.

Update software

You may need to update the software on the Starter Package or your app may be out of date. See how to update your system on the Updating the Starter Package Basic or Plus page.

An E-Trailer system is already in place

If you already have an E-Trailer system, you can have the E-Suspension system fitted in consultation with a dealer specialising in SMV. The E-Suspension hardware and software is in a special box. The Starter Package must also be fitted and connected in that box to use the system. SMV-Metall or your dealer can do this for you. Upon delivery of the system, you will receive a document containing the E-Suspension’s QR code.

Reset & recalibrate

If you see strange values, you can reset this module as follows. You do not need a QR code!
  1. Make sure you are connected to the main module via Bluetooth.
  2. Go to settings of the E-Suspension module.
  3. In the Sensors tab, click Reinstall.
    This disconnects the E-Suspension and removes all set data.
  4. Then follow the steps in the app.
